Challenge

With over 5,000 dispersed bare metal servers, our client had significant infrastructure and resource considerations that needed be addressed in order to create a standard management approach. This included bringing additional applications to a secured cloud environment, updated engineering specifications and data integration maturity.

Guidehouse is responsible for the engineering and operations of the client’s two main data centers: 24x7x365 environment with 99.99+% availability and two separate disaster recovery sites.

Solution

Guidehouse leveraged a holistic approach to managed infrastructure, which included system architecture and data facilitation, infrastructure optimization, continuous improvement, and security. Our experts designed, developed, and deployed technical services including network, storage, infrastructure, and platform and managed private cloud services. Guidehouse manages over 5,000 pieces of hardware, 2,800+ servers, 4 petabyte (PB) of production storage, and 9PB of data backup.

Guidehouse implemented a Single Pane of Glass and self-service capabilities for infrastructure provisioning, management of resources, and resource unit chargeback and improved the overall customer experience by handling the required complexity and deep-dive engineering.

Guidehouse supports 150,000 users across 75+ critical applications and provides architecture and systems integration support that enables integration and data access across the client’s systems and applications, as well as cloud integration support.

Guidehouse created value for our client by engineering a self-service, automated PaaS environment within our DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)  accredited private cloud. We now host over 75 applications with mission-critical services. 

Guidehouse delivered the first fully functional, security compliant, private Cloud and the focus on security contributed mightily to the Acceptable Evaluated Compliance report of the client’s 2018 DISA Command Cyber Readiness Re-inspection.
